At Point Hope all of the men and older boys had gone to Cape Lisburne to work on the installation of a LORAN system. This left only the women and children to unload provisions from the North Star. Here they are watching as the loaded barge comes to the beach. In a few moments they will be towing in the barge and rolling the heavy drums of oil or carrying heavy equipment and lumber up the beach to the village. back
